The tribe of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi urged the National Transitional Council on 22 Octopber to hand over his body to be buried in their hometown of Sirte according to Islamic rules. Gaddafi was captured alive on 20 October by council fighters in Sirte. Some witnesses said he was found hiding in a drainage pipe after a NATO airstrike on a convoy of alleged Gaddafi loyalists. SYRTE LIBÉRÉE DU JOUG DE DAESH

Le chef du gouvernement libyen d’union nationale (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj a annoncé officiellement ce samedi soir la libération de la ville de Syrte ancien fief libyen de Daesh, tout en affirmant que la guerre contre le terrorisme en Libye n’était “pas finie”.
Le chef du gouvernement a fait cette annonce à l’occasion du premier anniversaire de la signature de l’accord interlibyen de Skhirat parrainé par l’ONU, dont est issu le gouvernement d’union qu’il dirige.

L’ancien fief de Kadhafi a été libéré du contrôle de DAESH au premier anniversaire des accords de SKHIRAT.

 Le 5 décembre, des forces libyennes fidèles à son cabinet avaient annoncé avoir repris le contrôle total de Syrte, ville côtière située à 450 km à l’est de Tripoli.
